The Bond Archive prop bars have been reimagined in detail as three-dimensional cufflinks, individually made by hand in England and plated in 18ct gold. Backstory. In the 1964 film, Auric Goldfinger is on a mission to explode an atomic bomb to irradiate the US Gold Supply. He locks Oddjob, Bond and Kisch, with the bomb, in Fort Knox surrounded by bullion bars. During a resulting fight, Bond throws a gold bullion bar at Oddjob which simply bounces off the iconic henchman's chest. Details. Custom made to replicate the Bond Archive prop references, these cufflinks have been cast in brass, hand polished and hard gold plated with 1/4 micron of 18ct gold with hallmarks. All sides are authentically detailed and to scale, with the Fort Knox reference FK8879 selected by Michael White, assistant art director on Goldfinger, on his original production sketch, on the top surface. The end is engraved with serial number 17964 to honour the release date of the film, 17th September 1964. The cufflinks are finished with a swivel back and presented in a 007 black and gold gift box. With fins and rudders deployed, this is the perfect vehicle to pit again the road version of the Esprit S1. Backstory. Perhaps the single most outlandish car Bond has driven, the iconic white Lotus Esprit is capable of transforming from surface driving to submersible operations underwater. Appearing in The Spy Who Loved Me, this heavily armed vehicle is affectionately known as Wet Nellie. The underwater conversion system includes rudders and fins from the sides, a propeller replacing the back bumper, blackened windows to block out glare and a periscope rises from the roof. In the scene, Bond launches an air-to-sea missile using the car’s gearshift to destroy the hovering helicopter. As Stromberg’s divers attack the car, 007 deploys front-mounted torpedoes, an ink cloud and a mine. 007 re-configures the car back into a land vehicle, emerging from the sea to the surprise of some startled tourists. This model is the Lotus in its surface driving road mode, before transforming into submersible underwater mode. Appearing in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), the slot car has all the details from the original vehicle. Backstory. The Lotus Esprit S1 is known for its polygonal ‘folded paper’ like design but was ultimately made famous when it was driven by James Bond in the The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). The car was delivered by Q to the Island of Sardinia fitted with a range of modifications. After a long chase around the island, fighting off attacks from a motorbike, a Ford Cortina and helicopter, the only way to escape was to go into the sea and go into submarine mode. After an under-water duel, Bond and Russian Agent Major Anya Amasova emerge driving the Lotus up the beach much to the shock of the sun bathers as the car turns back into its road going format and speeds off in a true James Bond style.
