Description

The Sumo Collection celebrates the body, grand, voluminous, and full of presence, yet delicately balanced on slender legs. Inspired by the Japanese sport of Sumo, the Sumo Vase, Petit embodies strength paired with grace, mass held in harmony with poise.

Each piece opens in its own way. In its compact Petit form, the vase's rounded volume and narrow opening create a small but expressive sculptural presence, inviting a single stem, a small branch, or simply allowing the form to stand on its own.

The collection blurs the boundary between function and expression. More than a vessel, the Sumo Vase, Petit becomes an object of reflection, an artistic gesture shaped into volume.

Crafted from hand-painted ceramic, the Coffee finish is a deep, warm dark brown that evokes the richness of earth and roasted beans. Its grounded elegance lends warmth and depth to the sculptural form, while variations in brush strokes create gentle shifts in tone and texture, making each piece entirely unique. The layers of hand-applied pigment bring individuality to the smooth ceramic surface, reflecting the harmony of natural clay, craftsmanship, and the human hand.

Ideal for shelves, side tables, windowsills, or as part of a sculptural arrangement with other Sumo vases, the compact form brings warmth and quiet presence to an interior. Individually, it stands as a singular presence, like a figure in quiet solitude. Together with other pieces from the collection, it celebrates contrast, balance, and the timeless beauty of the human body.
