Description

The E30 M3 was a racing homologation car built for Group A touring car competition. BMW needed to produce 5,000 road cars to qualify the race car, and what they produced was the S14 four-cylinder engine in a lightweight body with wider arches, a revised suspension, and a driving character that has made the E30 M3 one of the most respected sports cars in BMW history. The high-revving S14 makes around 200 hp in standard form, which sounds modest until you factor in the chassis balance and the precision of the controls - a combination that rewards skill in a way that modern M cars, with their multiple times the horsepower, can't fully replicate.
