Description

The RB26DETT is 2.6 liters of inline-six that Nissan hand-assembled for the GTR because the company needed a racing homologation engine good enough to run Group A. The block is cast iron. The head is aluminium. Two ceramic turbos, individual throttle bodies, dry-sump lubrication. Nissan quoted 280ps because that was the gentleman's agreement cap - independent dyno runs consistently showed more. The engine ran through the R32, R33, and R34 GTR without major architectural changes. Heart of the Beast is not a marketing line. It is a description.
