The FD3S ran for 11 years and Mazda discontinued it not because it ran out of relevance but because emissions legislation made the 13B-REW increasingly hard to homologate. Production numbers were limited. Clean examples age well. The rotary community has been building, modifying, and preserving FD3S cars since Mazda stopped making them in 2002, and the interest has never fully faded. Legends Never Die is not nostalgia - it's an accurate description of what happens to a car that was genuinely good at what it did.
