Overview

Linking ties a brand-owned Account to an approved Dealer (Ordrly Connection location). It is optional. You can sell to an Account with no link.

Linking helps when the same buyer later joins Ordrly (or already has a Connection) and you want clearer continuity across Account and Dealer activity.

Steps

  1. Open Accounts and edit the Account.
  2. Use the link / create Dealer actions for that Account.
  3. Choose an existing approved Dealer location, or create/invite as your workflow allows.
  4. Save.

On Create Wholesale Order, Ordrly may nudge you to link when it is recommended. You can continue without linking.

When linking helps

  • The retailer is already (or soon will be) an approved Connection.
  • You want payment and order history to stay coherent across sales-book and marketplace orders.
  • Reps sometimes order as Account and sometimes as Dealer for the same buyer.

When to skip linking

  • The buyer will never join Ordrly.
  • You need to place the order immediately and can link later.
  • You are still cleaning CSV imports and do not want premature matches.

Tips

  • Accounts and Dealers remain distinct concepts even after linking.
  • Linking does not replace Dealer Type pricing on the Account.
  • If the nudge appears during order entry, use Edit Account or Continue without linking.
